Unfortunately, however, the forest carbon sink is tending to deteriorate, particularly as a result of climate change. And much work is needed to increase the proportion of harvested wood used in biomaterial production. \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">While much public funding is currently dedicated to forest management and the wood industry, we must ensure that it has a positive effect on both climate change mitigation and adaptation. For this reason, in addition to its work <a href=\"https:\/\/staging.i4ce.org\/en\/theme_travail\/voluntary-carbon-certification-and-the-low-carbon-standard\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">on the carbon certification<\/a> of forestry projects<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, <strong>I<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">4<\/span>CE<\/strong> evaluates public policies and funding and provides food for thought for public decision makers and stakeholders, especially in the economic sectors.
