1. Low hanging (tree) fruit \u2013 reaping forest-based carbon removal potential, identifying challenges and gaps to open doors to forest management solutions.<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

This session was focused on the specificities of forestry for carbon certification: how to <\/span>define carbon forestry<\/span><\/b>? How to define criteria for <\/span>high quality carbon certificates<\/span><\/b>? What are the challenges to <\/span>bridge supply and demand<\/span><\/b>?<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

2. Global or local? Carbon certification centralisation level: What implications for stakeholders?<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

The session was addressed the issue of <\/span>governance scales<\/span><\/b> for carbon farming certification in Europe. The CRCF offers an important opportunity to <\/span>unify and improve<\/span><\/b> the quality of land-based carbon projects. However, ensuring <\/span>EU-wide coherence<\/span><\/b> and progress while <\/span>leveraging existing frameworks<\/span><\/b> and engaging stakeholders remains a challenge.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The results of a survey were presented and discussed. In this survey, carbon certification experts gave their views on different governance scenarios for a European certification framework.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

3. Overcoming barriers to carbon farming projects financing: Bridging the gap between farmers and buyers through adequate framework and MRV tools<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

The CRCF aims to support the EU\u2019s climate goals while attracting both land users and certificate buyers. But aligning these interests is challenging, especially in agriculture. Agriculture struggles to secure private funding, highlighting the need for better links between farmers and buyers.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
